Its A Dogs Day in the Garden

Life can be so hard for some us....And yet some of us really know how to take full advantage of a sunny warm fall Sunday.   Meet Buster, his an old boy who doesn't have much time left, but he sure knows how to enjoy it.  My day in the garden was spent working hard putting beds to rest for the winter.. Well Buster he just plain was enjoying a lazy day in bed.

PA130009   Oh gosh that sun feels so good on me.
Ahhhhh.. its so boring watching her work.
I can't even keep my eyes open
Well maybe I'll just take a little nap.

PA130010Oh Life is good!

PA130032Dream land here I come....

PA130036  What! What!  Is someone there?

  PA130035Oh its only you.

  PA130039 Sound a sleep again.
Back into that amazing world of Dreamland.
Life is good…

PA130040 So lets all remember to take a break once in a while.
Close your eyes and feel the sun on your skin.
Let yourself visit the land of Dreams.

Take a Sunday and do like Buster…
Relax..

Apples and life

While out picking the last of the apples today, my mind was focused on locating the apples to be pick...
 P9120023

A thought came to me.
I would pick the apples I saw, thinking I got them all and then move onto another area.  From my new area I could see apples I had missed that had been right in front of  my eyes..  But somehow I hadn't seen them...
It was not until I stepped aside or was no longer focused on that area that the apples missed became visible.

In life you can also be so focused on whatever you are involved in that you miss what is right in front of you.   So just remember to step to the side or focus somewhere else once in a while......

Suddenly from the corner of your eye, your mind, your heart, and your world, there it is......
  PA030004

A glimpse of what you were missing before.... An Answer, An Understanding, A New Vision...Maybe even your purpose in life..Or the purpose you had lost for awhile, but now see it again.

Fall is my favourite time of the year... The days can be so pleasant..

It is my last time to work in the garden and flower beds...Finish getting everything out of the ground before it freezes....I have canning and freezing to do...Take some long hikes or mountain bike on the old logging roads....The colours and cool air just energize me.

PA050006
But I have been so focused on visiting my new spaces friends and working on my site, my photos and running around the Internet trying to figure out how everyone got this or that on there space... When it comes to the Internet and computer I can be such a nerd, I always want to know how everything works..
Enough Rambling....

I have been missing what is so important to me....Being outside and dream land (sleep)... There will be plenty of time later when the snow starts to fly for me to focus back here again...
So I am cutting my Internet time back, so if I don't visit so often for awhile please understand I need to step back a little and focus somewhere else.. I will try to continue to add many photos I still haven't posted yet and a blog now and then....
I'll be back full force when the snow flies...  Love you all.......

Harvest to Table

Here is a vegetarian recipe that I make every fall using fresh ingredients from my garden and green house.  Can be eaten as a side dish or a main dish.  I use a clay cooker but a casserole dish could be used also.  Delicious with fresh green salad and French or garlic bread.

Ratatouille

Ingredients
1 medium eggplant (about 1 1/4lb or 550g),
cut into 1/2" (1.5cm) cubes with skin
2 tsp.(10ml) salt
3 medium zucchini (about 1 lb or 450g),
cut into 3/4' (2cm) slices with skin
2 medium onions thinly sliced, separated into rings
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 green or red bell peppers, cut into 1" (2.5cm) squared
1 tsp (5ml) dried basil leaves
1/4 cup (60 ml) minced fresh parsley
2 large tomatoes coarsely chopped
1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil
Minced fresh parsley

for survival of life on Earth as much as the
evolution to a vegetarian diet.

Toss all ingredients except the last minced fresh parsley.
Add to clay cooker ( that was previously soak in water)
or casserole dish.
Bake in clay cooker for 3 hours at 400F(200C).

Eating is not merely a material pleasure.
Eating well gives a spectacular joy to life and contributes
immensely to goodwill and happy companionship.

It is of great importance to the morale.
