Summer has finally arrived. The flowers are all blooming and the yard looks like a park. What a difference since my last blog showing the yard back in late April.
A little work, a little relaxing and a little fun.
We had some serious high waters in our creek this year that took out about 50 feet of our fencing that had to be replaced. The creek has completely changed it’s course here. With both hubby and I having shoulder issues pounding the new fence posts was no fun. Each slam down with the pounder I worried something might go in my back or neck. But we managed to get it done with only sore muscles after.
With the fencing behind us and a few days of good weather ahead it was time to take our 1st camping and fishing trip this summer. So off to one of the lakes nearby.
Always loving to explore the area, I talked hubby into taking a climb with me up this steep mountain side. We started at the lake down below and used no road or trail going up. Well after the climb up we decided it was much easier to take an old logging road that we found back down. Reaching back at our campsite on the lake we spent a quiet evening enjoying the view and campfire.
The fishing had not been good, but I always enjoy the ever changing scenes that the lake presents.
Well since the yard was starting to look like a park again, it was time for bocce ball and a barbecue. The spectators were all lined up in chairs enjoying the late afternoon sun. It turned out to be such a beautiful day.
Summer Beauty in our Yard
What marks summer more then with the arrival of the butterflies.
Yes the leaves are finally all out and my beds have filled in.
To be able to capture the beauty in my flowers gives me so much joy.
Little bits of color can now be found everywhere.
Our lilac is only just now in bloom. Yes in July. But what magnificent blooms it has.
The relics of past are displayed around our house. Our deck looking over the valley. Filled with potted flowers.
This lilac bush is left over from the old homestead. It could be well over 80 years old. It was the only thing that bloomed when we bought the place in 1988. Every other blooming bush or flower we have planted, along with all the ornamental trees found thru out our yard.
What’ a visit to our place without seeing some wildlife. This little squirrel is pregnant and due any day. Momma dear had just given birth to this little fawn she is nursing.
Hope you enjoyed your quick visit to my place as much as I enjoyed giving you the tour.
Wishing Everyone
Whatever Season it is too you.
